Apple Pie “Provencal Charlotte”

Apple pie “Provencal charlotte” is a traditional charlotte with nuts only. It turns out such a cake is very tender and incredibly fragrant thanks to nuts, cinnamon and apples. Try it!

Cook: 1 hour 30 mins

Servings: 6-8

Ingredients

  • Sugar – 200 Grams
  • Flour – 200 Grams
  • Walnuts – 80 Grams
  • Egg – 3 Pieces
  • Soda – 1 Teaspoon
  • Vinegar – 1 Teaspoon
  • Apples – 3 Pieces
  • Vanillin – To taste
  • Cinnamon – To taste

Directions

  1. Break eggs into a bowl, add sugar, vanilla sugar and cinnamon, beat with a mixer until the egg mass turns white and slightly increases in volume.
  2. Add flour sifted through a sieve, quench the baking soda with vinegar and add to the dough. Mix the dough thoroughly. Add the blended nuts and stir again.
  3. Peel the apples and cut into 0.5 cm cubes. Add the apples to the dough and stir. Pour the dough into a parchment-lined dish and bake in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for 1 hour.
  4.  Brush the finished pie with jam and sprinkle with walnuts.
