Ingredients

  • 200 g butter
  • 225 grams sugar
  • 3 egg (s)
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch (s) salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 300 grams flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 100 g walnuts, chopped
  • 350 g apples, diced
  • 200 g powdered suar
  • 4 tablespoon rum
  • Fat for the shape
  • Breadcrumbs for the mold

Instructions

  1. Mix in butter, vanilla sugar and sugar until foamy, then stir in each egg individually for approx. 1-2 minutes. Add the spices (salt and cinnamon). Mix the flour and baking powder and gradually sift into the mixture and stir in. Finally, fold in the chopped walnuts and diced apples.
  2. Pour the dough into a greased springform pan sprinkled with breadcrumbs. Bake at 180 ° C top / bottom heat (preheated) for approx. 60 minutes (test with chopsticks!). Temperature for hot air approx. 160 ° C (preheated), please also make a stick test here.
  3. As soon as the cake comes out of the oven (leave it in the mold) spread 1 piece of butter (approx. 40 g) on the hot cake. The melted butter is absorbed into the cake. Later, cover the cooled cake with a topping of 100 - 200 g powdered sugar (to taste) and 2 - 4 tablespoons of rum.
