Ingredients

  • 3 onion (s), cut into thin rings
  • 1 kg beef, diced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ pepper, freshly ground
  • 0.25 teaspoon ¼ cardamom, ground, corresponds to about three capsules
  • 1 pinch clove (s), ground
  • 1 ½ teaspoon spice mix, Garam Masala (Indian)
  • 1 ½ teaspoon coriander, ground
  • 3 cm ginger, fresh, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 150 g yourt
  • 4 tablespoon almond (s), chopped
  • Coriander leaves, chopped, for garnish
  • Clarified butter or ghee

Instructions

  1. Mix the yogurt with salt, pepper, cardamom, cloves, garam masala, coriander, ginger and garlic.
  2. Heat the ghee and fry the onions in it. Add the meat and fry for about 5 minutes. Add the yogurt-spice mixture and mix everything well. Pour over half a liter of water, add the almonds and simmer for about an hour, stirring occasionally. If necessary, add more liquid.
  3. Sprinkle with coriander greens and serve with naan or chapati bread.
