Beefsteak in a Spicy Citrus Marinade

Delicious citrus marinade surprisingly transforms the taste of beef. Marinated orange, lemon, and lime juice make the meat tender and juicy, and spices give it aroma and piquancy.

Ingredients

  • Beef (for steaks) – 600 g
  • Garlic – 2 cloves
  • Orange – 1 pc.
  • Lemon – 0.5 pcs.
  • Lime – 1 pc.
  • Olive oil – 4 tbsp
  • Ground cloves – 1/5 teaspoon (7 buds)
  • Ground cumin (cumin) – 0.5 teaspoon (1 teaspoon of seeds)
  • Ground black pepper – 0.5 teaspoon
  • Ground cinnamon – 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt to taste

Directions

  1. Cut the beef into steaks. Peel and chop the garlic. Squeeze the juice out of the citrus fruits. I usually put them in the microwave for 30 seconds (you can hold them in boiling water), and then roll them out on the table, pressing them with my palm. The fibers then soften and the juice can be squeezed out easily. Add spices, garlic to the marinade, salt to taste. (If your spices are not ground, grind them using a coffee grinder or mortar.)
  2. Add the marinade to the meat, mix, and leave for 30 minutes (or 1 hour in the refrigerator). Do not keep the meat in the marinade any longer.
  3. Then fry the steaks in a well-heated grill pan with olive oil for about 2-3 minutes on each side. Put the finished steaks on a plate.
  4. Wrap the finished steaks in foil and leave for 10 minutes. Serve steaks with fresh vegetables.
