Berry Jam

Natural berry jam is made from sugar, berries, and lemon juice, and a substance from lemon seeds serves as pectin.

Ingredients

  • A mixture of any berries (raspberries, black and red currants, blueberries, etc.) – 1 kg
  • Water – 1 tbsp
  • White sugar – 1 kg
  • Lemon juice – 1/2 cup
  • Lemon grains – 2 teaspoon

Directions

  1. Wrap the lemon seeds in a small piece of gauze and tie with cotton thread, leaving a long piece of thread free.
  2. Put the berries in a thick-walled saucepan and pour water, put the saucepan over medium heat, and cook, stirring occasionally, for 15-20 minutes. Pour sugar into a saucepan, pour lemon juice and lower the bag of grains, tying the long end of the thread around the handle of the saucepan. Stir until sugar dissolves, bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low, put a special thermo in the jam, and cook for about 10-15 minutes, until the temperature rises to 105 degrees. When making the jam, it is necessary to collect the white foam.
  3. Put the finished jam in sterilized jars, roll up, and put it in a cool place upside down. Leave in this position for a day, and then you can turn the cans over.
