Braised Garlic Arrows

Garlic arrows basically throw everything away because they have no idea what to do with them. I will tell you how to cook deliciously stewed garlic arrows.

Ingredients

  • Garlic arrows – 1.2 kg
  • Salt – 1 teaspoon
  • Sugar – 70 g (1/3 cup)
  • Vinegar 9% – 70 ml (1/3 cup)
  • Vegetable oil – 70-80 ml (1/3 cup)
  • Water – 1 glass

Directions

  1. The first step is to harvest the ripe garlic stalks. They are advised to collect when the tips turn white.
  2. Cut the garlic arrows into pieces approximately 2-3 cm long. Discard the upper hard part.
  3. Place the garlic arrows in a saucepan. To fill with water.
  4. Add salt.
  5. Pour sugar there.
  6. Pour vinegar into a saucepan.
  7. Then add vegetable oil and mix.
  8. Put the saucepan over high heat and bring to a boil. Then reduce heat to medium, cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Turn off the heat and leave to cool under the lid. Stewed garlic arrows are ready.
    (If you have a lot of garlic arrows, you can save them for the winter. To do this, add more water to completely cover the garlic arrows. Then place the stewed garlic arrows in jars.)
  9. Garlic arrows go well with young potatoes.
