Californian Sandwich

Such a large and satisfying sandwich will be enjoyed by a large company.

Servings: 6

Ingredients

  • French loaf – 1 pc. (about 50 cm)
  • Mayonnaise – 1/2 cup
  • Garlic (minced) – 1 clove
  • Lemon zest – 2 teaspoon
  • Canned tuna (without liquid) – 400 g
  • Fresh tarragon (chopped) – 1 1/2 tbsp
  • Red wine vinegar – 1 1/2 cups l.
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Radish (cut into thin strips) – 1/2 cup
  • Medium tomato (cut into thin slices) – 1 pc.
  • Eggs (boiled and cut into thin slices) – 2 pcs.
  • Avocado (peeled and cut into thin slices) – 1/2 pc.
  • Black olives (pitted, cut into rings) – 1/2 cup

Directions

  1. Cut the loaf in half lengthwise and take out most of the pulp from both halves (the pulp can be saved for another dish containing bread crumbs).
  2. In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, garlic, and lemon zest. Grease the loaf halves with this sauce on the inside.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the tuna, tarragon, vinegar, salt, and pepper. Put this mixture on one half of the loaf.
  4. Put chopped radish, tomato, eggs, and avocado on the tuna. Sprinkle with olives on top and cover with the second half of the loaf. Cut the sandwich into 6 portions and serve immediately.
