Cauliflower in Garlic Sauce, Baked with Cheese

Cauliflower in garlic sauce is a completely independent dish with many flavors. The tenderness of cauliflower, spicy garlic sauce, and crispy cheese crust – all this is harmoniously combined in this dish.

Ingredients

  • Cauliflower – 1 kg
  • Butter – 100 g + for greasing the mold
  • Bread crumbs – 30 g + for sprinkling the mold
  • Hard cheese – 70 g
  • Garlic – 5-6 cloves
  • Wheat flour – 3 tbsp
  • Fresh dill – 3-5 branches
  • Dried thyme – 1 pinch
  • Dried oregano – 1 pinch
  • Dried basil – 1 pinch
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste
  • Sour cream – for serving

Directions

  1. We prepare all the necessary products.
  2. We wash the cauliflower and divide into inflorescences.
  3. We put the cabbage in a saucepan, fill it with water and boil for 10 minutes after boiling. Add some salt to the water during cooking. We discard the cabbage in a colander.
  4. Peel and chop the garlic.
  5. Finely chop the dill and leave a little dill for the sour cream sauce.
  6. Melt the butter in a frying pan.
  7. Gradually add flour to the butter, stirring occasionally. The mass should not darken.
  8. Gradually add 100-150 ml of water, stirring constantly.
  9. Add garlic, spices, salt, and dill. Stir and heat the sauce for 1 minute.
  10. We turn on the oven and heat up to 180 degrees.
    Grease the baking dish with butter and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.
  11. Put the cabbage into the mold.
  12. Fill the cabbage with sauce.
  13. Rub the cheese on a fine grater.
  14. Mix together bread crumbs and grated cheese.
  15. Sprinkle with this mixture the cabbage in the sauce. We send for 15-20 minutes to the oven.
  16. For serving, you can use sour cream sauce. To do this, mix the sour cream with the remaining dill. The sauce will add a pleasant sourness and freshness to the dish.
  17. Let the finished dish cool slightly.
