For the soup, bring 2 glasses of sour cherries to a boil with 1 tablespoon of sugar. In summer you can also use fresh cherries from the garden, which are of course much better than cherries from the jar. Add the packet of vanilla sauce powder and let everything cook over low heat.
For the dumplings, mix the flour, eggs, sugar, vanilla sugar, salt and milk together and knead with the paddle. Teaspoon-sized dough lumps are cut from the dough and added to the boiling soup. The soup is ready after 10 minutes.
As a little tip: I always make double the amount of dough, because my family always eats from the pot beforehand and otherwise there wouldn`t be much left
