Chicken Fillet Baked with Apples and Cheese

This incredible combination of fruit and chicken is my absolute favorite. No wonder such recipes are very popular, remember at least a duck with apples. After all, apples make chicken fillet more juicy and slightly sweetish, an ordinary chicken turns out to be tender and a little exotic.

Ingredients

  • Chicken fillet – 700 g (2 pcs.)
  • Apples – 200 g (2 pcs.)
  • Hard cheese – 100 g
  • Mayonnaise – 3 tbsp
  • Salt – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ground pepper (mixture) – 1/3 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil – 2 tbsp
  • Fresh parsley (for serving) – to taste

Directions

  1. Prepare all the ingredients for making the apple and cheese chicken fillet. There are very few of them. Choose sweet and sour apples.
    Turn on the oven, let it heat up to 180 degrees.
  2. Cut each chicken fillet into 4-5 pieces.
  3. Place the chicken piece in a plastic bag or under plastic wrap and beat with the flat side of a kitchen hammer into a layer about 0.5-1 cm thick.
  4. Grease a baking sheet with vegetable oil and spread the broken chicken fillet pieces on it. Season each bite with salt and pepper.
  5. Peel the apples and cut them into several pieces.
  6. Grind the apples with a coarse grater.
  7. Place the grated apple on each piece of fillet and press lightly (the layer should be dense).
  8. Grate hard cheese on a coarse grater. Hard cheese can be replaced with mozzarella, feta orfeta cheese.
  9. Place the cheese over each fillet on top of the apple.
  10. Apply a thin layer of mayonnaise to each piece. You may not need to use it, but mayonnaise will prevent the cheese from drying out both when baked and afterwards, when serving.
  11. Bake the chicken fillet under a cheese and apple coat in a preheated oven for 20-25 minutes. The top will brown and the chicken pieces will slightly decrease in size.
  12. Transfer the chicken fillet with apples and cheese to a nice serving plate, garnish with parsley leaves.
  13. You can serve boiled rice or potatoes as a side dish.
