  • 1 chicken
  • 2 apples
  • 250 ml red wine, sweet
  • 3 bay leaves
  • salt and pepper
  • garlic
  • 1 cup broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 ° C.
  2. Wash the chicken inside and out, then dab off. Season with salt, pepper and garlic inside and out.
  3. Cut 1/2 apple into small pieces and mix in some of the spices. Fill the chicken with this mixture. Slide the bay leaves in between.
  4. Place the chicken in a roaster / casserole dish. Cut the remaining 1 1/2 apples into wedges and place around the chicken. To do this, pour the red wine into the mold. Brush the chicken with the broth and cook in the oven for 1 hour. Every now and then brush with broth so that the skin becomes crispy and does not crack or become too dry.
  5. Then pour off the brew with the apple wedges and puree. If that results in too little liquid, stretch with the rest of the stock and red wine as desired.
  6. Rosemary potatoes or simple croquettes also taste very good.
