Ingredients

  • 6 chicken breast fillet (s)
  • 1 tablespoon sambal oelek
  • 2 tablespoon herbs, Italian marinated in oil (alternatively pesto)
  • 200 g sheep cheese
  • 4 sprigs lemon thyme
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • olive oil
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees (top and bottom heat).
  2. Beat the chicken breast fillets flat. Salt the inside and brush with Sambal Oelek and herbs. Cut the sheep`s cheese into 6 equal sticks and place them in the middle of the fillets. Fix the roulades as usual and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Brush the bottom of a larger casserole dish or roaster generously with olive oil. Spread the thyme and chopped garlic on the bottom of the dish and place the roulades on top and drizzle them generously with olive oil (or even better: massage the oil lightly into the meat).
  4. Then put the bowl with the roulades in the oven (middle rack) and cook for about 30 minutes.
  5. My recommendation: pasta and a light vegetable sauce.
  6. The chicken roulades also taste great cold, e.g. on bread, coated with mustard or horseradish; a treat for the palate!
