Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 1 cup flour, with added baking powder
  • 3 tablespoon sugar
  • 100 g butter flakes
  • 1 egg (s)
  • little vanilla essence

For covering:

  • Spread, (Dulce de Leche), alternatively also e.g., Strawberry jam
  • 50 g desiccated coconut
  • 1 egg (s)
  • 2 egg yolks, possibly one more
  • 3 tablespoon sugar
  • little vanilla essence

Instructions

  1. Mix the flour, which has already been enriched with baking powder, the sugar and the butter flakes with your hands so that the mixture has a sandy, granular consistency. Then add the egg and a dash of vanilla essence and knead the whole thing into a smooth mass. Press the dough into a tart pan, also forming an edge.
  2. Then coat the whole tart with more or less dulce de leche or jam to taste. Now mix the desiccated coconut with the egg, sugar, vanilla essence and 2 egg yolks, possibly one more if the mixture is not smooth enough. It is best to carefully pour this over the dulce de leche with a spoon and smooth it out. Place in the preheated oven (approx. 180 degrees) and bake until the edges are through, but neither these nor the coconut layer turn too brown. This takes about 20-30 minutes.

  4. When the tart is perfect, it looks more or less like a pizza, but should be eaten as cold as possible.
