Ingredients

  • 6 cl rum (Havana Club), anejo 3 anos
  • 2 cl sugar syrup
  • 0.5 ½ lime (s)
  • 10 basil leaves, depending on size
  • Ice cubes, or crushed ice

Instructions

  1. Cut off the edges of the lime and cut the rest of it into eighths. Then put all the ingredients in a shaker, mixing glass or something similar and pound everything vigorously. Let it steep for 12 to 15 minutes. Then shake everything vigorously on ice for about 30 seconds and strain into a cocktail bowl using the double-strain method (place the bar strainer on the shaker opening and through the kitchen strainer).
  2. I do without the decoration with this drink, because the color and the baseball particles offer enough visual appeal. Otherwise, basil leaves and / or a lime sheath, etc., are ideal.

  4. Do not use a pestle with spikes at the end (such as a wooden pestle), but a smooth and heavy one, e.g. made of plastic. This is the only way to make the Daiquiri perfect, as the lime peel gives off so little bitter substances.
