Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 255 g flour
  • 150 g suar, white
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoon ¼ nutmeg, grated
  • 0.25 teaspoon ¼ cinnamon powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 180 ml buttermilk
  • 2 egg (s), whisked
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoon butter, melted

For the topping:

  • 113 g butter, melted
  • 50 g suar, white
  • 55 g suar, brown
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon powder

Instructions

  1. Oven to 160 degrees C, bottom heat if possible, otherwise preheat top / bottom heat. Lightly grease 2 donut molds.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt together. In a smaller bowl, mix the buttermilk, eggs, vanilla extract and melted butter together well.
  3. Then add the wet ingredients to the dry ones and mix well. Fill the donut molds 3/4 full and put the molds in the oven. Bake the donuts for 8 to 10 minutes until they are light golden brown.
  4. Let the donuts cool down a little in the mold, then remove them from the mold.
  5. Prepare the topping:
  6. Mix the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. First dip each donut in the melted butter and then roll it in the sugar / cinnamon mixture.
