Mix all ingredients together and place the toast slices in. It is best to poke many small holes in the toast slices with a fork so that they absorb nicely. Turn the slices after 1-2 minutes.
Heat the fat in a pan and bake the toasts on both sides over medium heat to the desired brown.
They taste best with powdered sugar and maple syrup, but also with jam, whipped cream, sour cream, cream cheese or ice cream.
