Fancy Hot Dogs

These hot dogs differ from those served in fast food establishments both in taste and appearance.
Servings: 8
Ingredients
- Bacon – 8 strips
- Sausages – 8 pcs.
- Monterey Jack cheese or other hard cheese – 120 g
- Butter (softened) – 50 g
- Dijon mustard – 1/4 cup
- Hot dog buns – 8 pcs.
- Small onions (cut in half rings) – 1 pc.
- Canned chili pepper (seeded and finely chopped) – 120 g (optional)
Directions
- Cut the cheese into thin strips. Heat a skillet over medium heat, add the strips of bacon and fry until crisp on both sides. Place the bacon on a paper towel to drain off excess fat.
- Make deep cuts in the sausages and put cheese in each. Wrap the sausages with fried bacon and hold together with toothpicks.
- Cut the hot dog buns in half, but not completely. Mix the mustard and butter in a small bowl and brush the slices of the buns with this mixture, set the buns aside.
- Turn on the grill to heat it up to medium temperature, place the sausages on the wire rack and fry with the lid closed for about 3-4 minutes. Unroll the buns and place them on the grill rack, slice down, fry for 2-3 minutes. Remove toothpicks from sausages, place sausages in buns, and serve hot dogs with onions and chili peppers (optional).
