Ingredients
- 4 egg (s), hard-boiled
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- 0.5 teaspoon ½ mustard, hot
- 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
- 2 dashes Tabasco, or amount to taste
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- salt
- Pepper, black, freshly ground
- 1 pinch cayenne pepper
- Dill, for the garnish
- 4 slices toast

- Halve the eggs lengthways, loosen the yolks and mash them with a fork. Then stir the egg yolks with mayo, mustard, ketchup, Tabasco and lemon juice until smooth. Season to taste with salt, pepper and cayenne and fill the egg white halves with a piping bag and garnish with a little dill. Arrange on a lettuce leaf and serve with warm, diagonally halved toast.
- This is the Swedish version of the eggs, which in this country can often be found garnished with caviar. They are ideal not only as a small starter, but also for a buffet.
