Instructions

  1. Sift the flour into a bowl and make a well in the center. Put the egg, salt and cold butter in the well and knead everything quickly to form a smooth dough. Shape the dough into a ball, wrap in foil and let rest in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  2. Clean and wash the fresh spinach and briefly blanch it in boiling water (alternatively, thaw 300 g frozen leaf spinach and briefly heat, do not boil!).
  3. Peel the onions, cut into cubes and mix with the pressed garlic clove, 2 eggs and the spinach into the mixed minced meat. Season to taste with salt, pepper and paprika powder.
  4. Press the dough into a greased 26 cm springform pan, pulling up the edge about 2 cm. Spread the minced meat mixture evenly on top. and bake in the preheated oven at 220 ° C top / bottom heat for 45 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle the grated cheese on top and bake until golden brown for another 15 minutes.
  6. Tip: If you want to prepare the minced meat cake for guests, you can prepare the cake the day before or in the morning as follows. Prepare everything as described above. However, cook the cake in the oven for 1 hour without sprinkling it with cheese. Then chill. Just before the guests arrive, sprinkle with cheese and bake at 190 ° C for about 30 - 35 minutes until golden brown.
