Focaccia Diner

A hearty appetizer made from focaccia (Italian wheat tortilla) will easily satisfy your hunger between meals.

Cook: 15 minutes

Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • Focaccia – 1 pc.
  • Small zucchini – 2 pcs.
  • Smoked chicken meat – 6 thin slices
  • Ham – 6 thin slices
  • Fed type Monterey Jack, semi-hard (can be soft cheddar, etc.) (cut into cubes) – 230 g
  • Basil, fresh leaves – 1/2 cup
  • Ground nutmeg (optional)
  • Fresh vegetables for garnish (optional)

Directions

  1. Switch on the oven with the grill function to preheat to the maximum temperature. Cut the focaccia in half horizontally. Cut the top of the focaccia into strips.
  2. Grind the zucchini on a coarse grater.
  3. Put chopped zucchini, basil leaves, chicken, and ham slices on the focaccia half base.
  4. Put the other half of the focaccia, which is cut into strips, on top of the meat, alternating the strips of focaccia with the cheese cubes. Sprinkle with nutmeg (optional).
  5. Place on a baking sheet and place under the grill, cook until the cheese melts, about 5 minutes. Cut the hot focaccia into 4 portions and serve immediately. It is good to serve such an appetizer with fresh vegetables (optional).
