Fried Ham and Cheese Sandwich

by Editorial Staff

A regular ham and cheese sandwich can be made extraordinarily delicious if fried!

Cook: 30 minutes

Servings: 2

Ingredients

  • Toast bread – 4 slices
  • Ham – 100 g
  • Hard cheese – 90 g
  • Bulb onions – 1 pc.
  • Eggs – 2 pcs.
  • Butter – 30 g
  • Olive oil – 1 tbsp
  • Vinegar – 10 ml
  • Sugar – 10 g
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste

Directions

  1. Peel the onion and cut it into cubes.
  2. Put the onion in a bowl, add vinegar, sugar. Leave the onion to marinate for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Cut the ham into cubes.
  4. Grate hard cheese on a coarse grater.
  5. Mix cheese and ham.
  6. Brush slices of toast bread with melted butter on one side.
  7. Spread the ham and cheese mixture onto two slices of bread.
  8. Put the pickled onion on top of the ham and cheese, squeezing the liquid out of it.
  9. Cover the filling with the second piece of toast bread. You can cut the crusts from the bread for beauty (I did not do that).
  10. Whisk the eggs in a bowl.
  11. Add salt and ground black pepper to the eggs. Whisk everything again.
  12. Dip the sandwich into the egg mixture for 20-30 seconds, press down a little, then turn over to the other side and do the same.
  13. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. Fry the sandwich on one side for 2 minutes.
  14. Turn the sandwich over and fry for another 2 minutes. Also, fry the second sandwich.
  15. Put the finished fried sandwiches with ham, cheese, and onions on a paper towel, blot off excess oil.
  16. Cut the sandwiches into triangles.

Enjoy your meal!
