Galette with Cherries and Nuts

Wonderful berry pie on choux pastry without eggs or dairy products. It is done very easily and at the same time quickly. The dough is neutral in taste, so it can be made with completely different fillings, both salty and sweet. Today we are making a pie with cherries and nuts.

Ingredients

For the dough:

  • Flour – 200 g
  • Baking powder – 1 teaspoon.
  • Salt – a pinch
  • Odorless vegetable oil – 80 g
  • Water (boiling water) – 80 g

For filling:

  • Pitted cherries – 400 g
  • Starch – 1 teaspoon
  • Sugar – 2 tbsp
  • Nuts (any) – 2 tbsp

Directions

  1. Mix the sifted flour with baking powder and salt. Add vegetable oil, mix everything thoroughly.
  2. Pour in boiling water and mix everything quickly until the water has cooled.
  3. Knead soft, elastic dough and put it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  4. While the dough is cooling down, prepare the filling. Add starch to the washed and pitted cherries and mix gently.
  5. After the dough has cooled, roll it into a circle.
  6. Spread the cherry filling evenly in the middle. Sprinkle with sugar and nuts on top.
  7. We pinch the edges of the dough in a circle.
  8. We send the prepared cherry pie into an oven preheated to 180 ° C and bake a biscuit with cherries and chopped nuts for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. After baking, let the cherry pie cool and serve.
