Garlic Croutons

Remaining stale rye bread? A simple recipe for how to make garlic croutons. Recommended to be served with borscht.

Cook: 10 minutes

Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • Rye bread – 0.4 loaves
  • Garlic – 1-3 cloves (to taste)
  • Vegetable oil – 2-3 tbsp (how much will it take)
  • Salt – 0.5 teaspoon (to taste)

Directions

  1. Cut stale rye bread into thin slices (or cubes).
  2. Preheat a frying pan, pour in vegetable oil. Layout the prepared bread.
  3. Fry the bread in vegetable oil over medium heat until golden brown (1-2 minutes on each side).
  4. Peel and crush the garlic.
  5. Salt the garlic.
  6. Mix the crushed garlic with salt thoroughly.
  7. Sprinkle the croutons with crushed garlic and salt.
