Ingredients

  • 500g flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 30 g yeast, fresh
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ sugar
  • 300 ml water, warm
  • 3 tablespoon olive oil
  • 250 g sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Sift the flour into a bowl. Sprinkle salt on the flour and pour in the oil. Put the sugar in the warm water and dissolve the yeast in it. Add the yeast-water to the flour, stir the dough and knead well by hand. Put the dough back in a bowl, cover and let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat the oven to 225 °. Line the baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Knead the risen dough again, add a little more flour if necessary, then shape into a roll and cut into 8 pieces. Shape each piece into an approx. 30 cm long strand and place in a circle. Press the ends together well.
  4. Put warm water in a bowl and sprinkle the sesame seeds on a flat plate. Dip the curls briefly in the water and then on both sides in the sesame.
  5. Place the sesame rings on the baking sheet and let rise, covered, for about 5 minutes, then put them in the oven.
  6. After about 5 minutes of baking time, spray a pour of cold water on the bottom of the oven. Immediately close the oven door and bake the donuts for 20-25 minutes until they are nice and brown.
