Ingredients

  • 1 small cucumber (s)
  • salt
  • 2 cloves garlic)
  • 250 g natural yourt
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar (table vinegar)
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ herbs (frozen), mixed
  • Pepper, black
  • 2 baguette (s) (together approx. 300 g)
  • 1 head lettuce, the heart it
  • 250 g chicken breast fillet (s), cut into strips
  • 1 teaspoon spice mix for gyros
  • 2 tablespoon oil (sunflower oil)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 ° C top / bottom heat (convection: 180 ° C).
  2. Wash and peel the cucumber and grate it finely on a kitchen grater. Put a pinch of salt in a colander to drain. Peel the garlic cloves and press them into the yogurt using a garlic press.
  3. Firmly squeeze the cucumber pulp with your hands and stir into the yogurt. Mix with table vinegar, olive oil, herbs and pepper.
  4. Cut both baguettes deeply lengthways, but not through, and place in the oven for 5 to 8 minutes. Remove the leaves from the lettuce heart, cut into strips, wash and drain.
  5. Season the strips of chicken breast fillet with pepper and gyros and fry them in hot sunflower oil for 3 to 4 minutes on all sides. Take out and season with salt.
  6. Unfold the two baguettes, spread the yoghurt sauce on them, cover with strips of lettuce, fill in strips of meat and coat again thickly with yoghurt sauce.
  7. Serve immediately.
  8. Tip: add diced tomatoes and onion strips to the baguettes.
