Ham and Fennel Toast

Pieces of ham and fennel and parsley salad are stacked on golden crispy baguette slices.

Ingredients

  • Thin slices of fresh baguette – 24 pcs.
  • Olive oil – 3 tbsp
  • Small fennel (cut into thin strips) – 1 pc.
  • Fresh parsley leaves (chopped) – 2 tbsp
  • Freshly squeezed lemon juice – 1 tbsp
  • Coarse salt and black ground pepper to taste
  • Ham such as prosciutto (cut into thin slices) – 250 g

How to make ham and fennel toast:

Directions

  1. Turn on the oven to preheat to 180 degrees. Place the baguette slices on a dry baking sheet and brush on both sides with 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Fry the baguette until golden brown, about 10-12 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine the chopped fennel, parsley leaves, lemon juice, and the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil, add 1/4 teaspoon of salt and 1/8 teaspoon of black pepper.
  3. Put ham on the toast, and on it, fennel and parsley, sprinkle the toast with ham with salt and pepper (to taste).
