Homemade Bread with Pressed Yeast

Homemade bread is the most delicious bread, you just have to remember this crispy crust and tender crumb. Try to bake bread with fresh-pressed yeast rather than dry.

Ingredients

  • Flour – 3-4 cups
  • Pressed yeast – 15 g
  • Warm water – 250 ml
  • Vegetable oil – 3 tbsp into dough + oil for lubrication
  • Sugar – 1-2 tbsp
  • Salt – 0.5-1 teaspoon.

Directions

  1. Put yeast in a bowl, add sugar (I added 2 tablespoons) and a couple of tablespoons of warm water. Stir to disperse the yeast and leave for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Add the rest of the water, stir. Gradually add half of the flour.
  3. Add oil, salt (0.5 teaspoon or slightly more), and the rest of the flour. Be sure to introduce flour gradually – this way you can track the consistency of the dough, because due to the different quality of flour, the amount you have may be different. When I was kneading the dough, I lubricated my hands with oil – this is more convenient, it sticks less.
  4. Grease the bowl with oil, put the finished dough there, and put it in a warm place to rise for an hour. As it rises, knock (knead) it and leave it again for 40-60 minutes. As it rises a second time, knead again and place in oiled baking dishes. Leave to rise again.
  5. When the dough rises for the third time, carefully put the molds with the dough in the oven, preheated to 200 degrees. Bake for 30-40 minutes to an hour.
