Homemade sweets “Bounty” (with Millet)

Interesting homemade candies! The taste of millet groats is completely invisible, but at the same time, millet gives a good, juicy structure.

Ingredients

  • Millet groats – 65 g
  • Coconut flakes – 75 g
  • Brown sugar (or honey) – 30 g
  • Dark chocolate – 100 g
  • Cream – 2-3 tablespoon
  • Vanilla sugar (optional) – to taste
  • Water – 200 ml

Instructions

  1. Rinse millet and fill with water for 6 hours. Drain the water, place the millet in a saucepan.
    Pour in water and cook after boiling over low heat until the cereal is fully cooked. The millet should be completely soft. Add a little more water if needed.
  2. Add coconut, brown sugar, vanilla sugar, or extract as desired. Stir until the mixture is as homogeneous as possible. Add cream if the mixture is too crumbly. Taste, you may need to add sugar. Tamp down firmly and transfer the coconut mass into a mold. Refrigerate for 40-60 minutes.
  3. In the meantime, melt the chocolate in a water bath. Remove the coconut mass from the mold and cut into free-form slices. Dip the slices in melted chocolate and refrigerate until chocolate solidifies.

Serve chilled homemade Bounty sweets.
