Ingredients
- 500 ml vodka, (no grain!)
- 1 piece (s) horseradish, fresh, approx. 4 cm thick, finger-length
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 piece (s) ginger, approx. Finger thick, 3 cm long
- 0.5 ½ chilli pepper (s), fresh or dried

- In order for the khrenowukha to be successful, one should not skimp on vodka. It is important that you do not use Doppelkorn or something like that - only Russian vodka, Moskovskaja or Stolichnaja are best, both are available in German grocery stores.
- So peel and roughly grate the horseradish and ginger, plus honey and chilli. Pour vodka over everything in a glass container and seal airtight, place in a dark place. Let it steep for 4-5 days, sift through a piece of gauze. Store cool.
- Drink cold - even on a hot summer`s day, Khrenowukha is a pleasure.
- A crunchy pickle goes well with it!
- By the way, a small glass of Khrenowukha at the first signs of a cold is said to be effective in preventing the disease.
