Hot Baguette with Vegetables and Cheese

A hot baguette with cheese, hummus, and fried vegetables is a great lunchtime snack.

Servings: 4
Ingredients
- Baguette – 4 pcs. (120 g each)
- Hummus – 230 g
- Bulgarian red pepper (cut into strips) – 1 glass
- Green chili pepper (cut into strips) – 1 glass
- Provolone cheese – 4 slices (15 g each)
- Garlic (sliced) – 3 cloves
- Olive oil – 1 tbsp
- Onions (cut into strips) – 1 glass
- Ground red pepper – 1/4 teaspoon.
- Ground black pepper – 1/4 teaspoon.
How to make a hot baguette with cheese and vegetables:
Directions
- Switch on the oven with grill function to preheat to high temperature.
- Cut the baguettes in half lengthwise so that the base is 1.5 centimeters thick, and set the tops aside. Place the baguettes on a baking sheet, slice down. Place under the grill and brown until golden brown.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Pour oil, put onion, chili, bell pepper, garlic, sprinkle with red and black pepper. Fry vegetables for about 5 minutes.
- Brush the baguette slices with hummus, about 1/4 cup for each half. Top with 1/2 cup of fried vegetables and one slice of cheese, grill the baguettes with cheese for about 2 minutes, until the cheese melts. Cover the hot cheese and vegetable baguettes with the tops set aside.
