Juicy Orange Muffin

Do you want to prepare something tasty for tea without any hassle? Here’s an idea – a simple recipe for a juicy orange cake that literally melts in your mouth.

Ingredients

  • Orange – 2 Pieces (zest of one, 100 milliliters of juice in the dough, 50 – glaze.)
  • Sugar – 100-150 Grams
  • Butter – 150 Grams
  • Egg – 4 Pieces
  • Flour – 250-270 Grams
  • Salt – 1 Pinch
  • Baking powder – 1 pinch
  • Powdered sugar – 100 Grams
  • Vegetable oil – 0.5 Teaspoons

Directions

  1. With the dough, everything is quite simple: in a deep bowl, whisk softened butter with sugar until smooth. The mass should brighten.
  2. Separately, use a fork to lightly beat the eggs with a pinch of salt. Add eggs to sugar, stir. You can add vanilla extract or a pinch of cinnamon if desired, for example.
  3. Wash the oranges well and dry a little. Grate the zest from one (on the finest grater), add it to the dough. You can also add lemon zest for a more intense flavor.
  4. Juice the oranges and pour into a bowl. Gradually add flour sifted with baking powder, knead the dough. It shouldn’t be too thick.
  5. Grease the mold with oil (or cover with parchment). Lay out the dough, flatten, and send the form to the oven preheated to 170-180 degrees.
  6. Bake the juicy orange muffin at home for about 40 minutes. Check readiness with a match or toothpick.
  7. Combine about 50 ml of juice with powdered sugar. Pour in a little oil, mix well.
  8. Pour the icing over the cooled cake, then let it sit for about 1 hour. Here is such a simple, but very successful option for making a juicy orange muffin.
