Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 500g flour
  • 1 yeast
  • 2 pinch (s) salt
  • Lukewarm water

For covering:

  • 500 g cheese, e.. feta
  • 2 tablespoon oil (olive oil)
  • 1 onion (s), chopped
  • pepper
  • 1 pinch clove (s), ground
  • 1 pinch nutmeg, ground
  • 1 pinch ginger, ground

Instructions

  1. Knead a yeast dough from the ingredients, slowly knead in water until the dough no longer sticks to your hands. Let rise in a warm place for 1 hour. Knead again and shape into 30 egg-sized balls.
  2. Prepare a paste from cheese, olive oil, onion and spices. Do not salt, the cheese is relatively salty!
  3. Shape the dough balls into small flatbreads with a diameter of approx. 10 cm, pull up the edge slightly and spread the cheese mixture on top. Place on a greased baking sheet and bake at 200 degrees for about 10 minutes.
  4. The cheese pancakes are served as part of a mezze meal - with many different starters.
