Ingredients

  • 250 g lentils
  • 750 ml water
  • 3 tablespoon oil
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 4 tablespoon vinegar, possibly more or less
  • 1 carrot (s), possibly
  • 1 leek, possibly
  • 1 potato (s), possibly
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder
  • 1 tablespoon meat stock, clear, instant
  • some red wine, possibly
  • possibly bacon, diced or sliced (125 g)
  • Viennese sausages (string sausages)

Instructions

  1. Put the water in the pressure cooker. Add the oil, tomato paste, clear meat stock, bacon and vinegar. If you like, you can now add the chopped vegetables. Bring to the boil, add the lentils, stir and close the pressure cooker.
  2. When the pan has built up pressure, reduce the heat and simmer on medium for about 15 minutes. After the 15 minutes, turn off the stove and let it stand on the hot plate for about 5 minutes.
  3. Release the pressure (depending on the pot), open the pot, place the stringed sausages in the lentil mixture and heat them for a few minutes.
  4. Spaetzle go well with it.
  5. I just had to include this recipe here as I haven`t found a recipe here that doesn`t require soaking the lentils (overnight). This method is easy, super and fast and tastes like a master craftsman!
