Minced Meat Casserole “Heart” with Mushrooms and Cheese

Heart-shaped meat casserole is a hearty and elegant dish for Valentine’s Day! Such a casserole is quite enough for two persons, respectively, one heart is obtained for two, which is very symbolic for February 14. 🙂

Ingredients

  • Minced meat (I have beef) – 250 g
  • Champignon mushrooms – 70 g
  • Hard cheese – 40 g
  • Sweet red pepper – 0.3 pcs.
  • Bulb onions – 0.5 pcs.
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste

Directions

  1. Prepare all the ingredients you need to make the mushroom and cheese casserole. Turn on the oven to heat up to 180 degrees.
  2. Season the minced meat with salt, pepper and mix well. Then beat the minced meat well by collecting it in your hand and tossing it into the bowl several times. The minced meat should become plastic and keep the shape of the ball well.
  3. With your hands moistened with water, place the minced meat on a baking sheet covered with parchment or foil (or on a silicone mat). Give the minced meat a heart shape.
  4. Remove the skin from the mushroom caps, remove the dirt from the legs. Cut the mushrooms into slices and place on the minced meat, repeating the shape of the heart.
  5. Peel the onions, cut into small cubes. Sprinkle the onion over the mushrooms.
  6. Grate the hard cheese on a coarse grater and spread over the mushrooms and onions.
  7. Cut the red bell peppers into cubes and place on top of the cheese.
  8. Bake the minced meat “heart” with mushrooms, cheese and vegetables until tender in an oven preheated to 180 degrees, about 25 minutes.
  9. Minced meat casserole “Heart” with mushrooms and cheese is ready.
  10. The casserole turns out to be very tasty, the meat layer is juicy, and the crust is rosy and appetizing!
  11. Heart-shaped meat casserole is a great dish on Valentine’s Day.
