Oatmeal with Canned Peas, Garlic and Herbs

On a weekend, you can afford to cook such unusual unsweetened oatmeal for breakfast with canned green peas, garlic, and herbs. You will be surprised how easy it is to transform tasteless oatmeal. The spicy taste and delicate texture – try it!

Ingredients

  • Instant oatmeal flakes – 50 g (0.5 cups of 200 ml)
  • Canned green peas – 2 tbsp
  • Garlic – 1 clove (to taste)
  • Salt – 1 pinch (to taste)
  • Ground black pepper – to taste
  • Olive oil – 1 tbsp
  • Parsley or dill greens – 0.25 bunch

Directions

  1. Prepare all required ingredients. Remove the canned peas from the jar and put them on a sieve so that the excess liquid is glass. Dill or cilantro can be used instead of parsley.
  2. Pour the oatmeal into a deep container.
  3. In a kettle or saucepan on the stove, bring about 200 ml of water to a boil. Pour boiling water over the flakes and cover with a lid or plate.
  4. Leave for 10 minutes to swell and soften the oatmeal. If after a while the liquid remains, drain it with a sieve. (You can also microwave oatmeal at 800 watts for 3 minutes.)
  5. Peel the garlic and grate it on a fine grater.
  6. Wash the greens, dry, and chop finely. Send the greens to the oatmeal.
  7. Add garlic, salt, and pepper.
  8. Put canned peas without liquid there.
  9. This oatmeal with canned peas, garlic, and herbs can be served immediately after cooking, but even tastier if it is infused in the refrigerator and is saturated with the taste and aroma of garlic as much as possible.
