Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice, parboiled
  • 1 cup noodles, (thin vermicelli)
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pinch (s) salt

Instructions

  1. Fill a wide saucepan (with a tightly fitting lid) with the olive oil (should cover the bottom), add the vermicelli and heat on medium to high heat. Brown the noodles while stirring until they are almost cocoa brown. Attention, it suddenly happens in no time! Take the saucepan off the stove and add the rice and salt. Sweat the whole thing for another 2 minutes. Then add enough cold water to about 2cm above the rice. Bring to the boil once and turn the heat down to 1. Put the lid on tightly and, well, it`s best to do something else, it actually cooks itself. Simmer until all the water has evaporated. Don`t pour off!
