Ingredients

  • 3 rolls or 1/4 loaf white bread, from the day before
  • 1 large apple
  • 0.5 ½ handful raisins
  • 140 ml milk
  • 1 egg (s)
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 125 g quark, 20%
  • 1 handful breadcrumbs
  • some lemon juice
  • Butter for greasing and for flakes butter

Instructions

  1. Cut the rolls or white bread into thin slices. Wash the apple, remove the core, quarter or eighth and also cut into thin slices and drizzle with a little lemon juice. Mix the raisins with the apple pieces and set aside.
  2. Grease a small baking dish (0.75 L content) well. Preheat the oven to 200 ° C - top / bottom heat.
  3. In a wide bowl, whisk the egg, milk and sugar together well. Now dip as many slices of bread that are necessary to line the mold (bottom and walls) in the egg milk and line the mold well. Now mix the quark into the egg milk and stir well until smooth. Spread a layer of apple pieces with raisins on the bottom layer. The second layer of bread is now briefly dipped into the quark milk and placed on top of the apple layer. This is followed by another layer of apple and finally another layer of dipped bread. Now spread the rest of the quark-egg-sugar-milk well over the whole oven and sprinkle with the breadcrumbs. Finally, spread a few flakes of butter on top and bake the oven loaf in the oven on the middle rack for about 35 to 40 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Then take it out, let it cool down briefly and serve the oven hat while it is still warm.
