“Polar” Cakes

These cakes keep well and can be frozen. A real lifesaver for breakfast or a snack! Appetizing-looking and delicious polar tortillas (bread)! The recipe is very simple, repeat to your health!

Ingredients

  • Flour – 250 g
  • Water (warm) – 100 ml
  • Yeast – 1 teaspoon
  • Sour cream – 1 tablespoon
  • Brown sugar (cane) – 1 teaspoon
  • Salt – 1/2 teaspoon

Directions

  1. Let’s prepare the products, instead of the usual sugar for this recipe you will need brown (cane).
  2. Pour sugar into sour cream. Add yeast to warm water, mix, add a little flour there (1 teaspoon). Let the yeast stand for a couple of minutes.
  3. We combine all the products and knead the soft dough.
  4. Without letting the dough rest, roll it into a thin layer 5 mm thick. Cover the large workpiece with a towel and now let it sit for 5-10 minutes.
  5. Then we cut out cakes with a diameter of 10 cm, you can use cutting. We often and beautifully prick the cakes with a fork. Cover with plastic wrap or a damp towel and let stand for 30 minutes.
  6. Cooking yeast cakes in a dry, well-heated frying pan on both sides. Fry very quickly.
  7. Ready-made “polar” cakes can be served, cooled and stored in a bag for several days (they will be soft). Or you can freeze it like real polar bread and take it out and use it as needed!
