Potato Casserole with Meat Balls

This quick-to-cook potato casserole tastes like potato pancakes, only with meat.

Servings: 6
Ingredients
- Minced meat (pork, beef, or mixed) – 500 g
- Potatoes – 800-1000 g
- Carrots – 1 large or 3 small
- Onions – 1 pc.
- Garlic – 1 clove
- Eggs – 2 pcs.
- Semolina – 3 tbsp
- Mayonnaise – 5 tbsp
- Nutmeg (ground) – 1/3 teaspoon
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Fresh dill – small bunch
- Vegetable oil
Directions
- Grate the carrots on a coarse grater and dice the onion. Preheat a frying pan, pour in sunflower oil, fry onions, and carrots until lightly browned.
- Grate potatoes on a coarse grater, add semolina, eggs, fried onions with carrots and mayonnaise. To prevent the potatoes from darkening, you can add onion juice, then the potatoes will remain light.
- Add spices. Stir everything thoroughly. In a baking dish, add sunflower oil, grease all sides and bottom. Layout the casserole base.
- Shape the minced meatballs using your wet hands. For this, salt and pepper the minced meat. Place the meatballs in the base of the casserole, pressing them lightly into the potatoes.
- You can cook potato casserole in a slow cooker or send it to an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 40 minutes. Potato casserole with meatballs is ready.
