Ingredients

  • 500g flour
  • 1 pack dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 liter ¼ water, lukewarm
  • 30 g butter, soft
  • some baking soda (3% caustic soda, from the pharmacy)
  • Salt, coarse

Instructions

  1. Knead all other ingredients together except for the caustic soda and coarse salt. Place the dough in the freezer for about 15 minutes. Then knead again and divide into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into rolls and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Now use a baking brush to brush the sticks with the 3% sodium hydroxide solution, score 2 - 3 times at an angle and sprinkle with the coarse salt. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 ° C for about 20 minutes. They taste best warm out of the oven.
