Red Bean Lobio

A traditional Georgian dish is red bean lobio, with tomatoes, nuts and garlic. Delicious meatless dish for the whole family.

Ingredients

  • Red beans – 120 g
  • Tomato – 1 pc.
  • Bulb onions – 1 pc.
  • Walnuts – 30 g
  • Garlic – 1 clove
  • Vegetable oil – 30 ml
  • Cilantro – to taste
  • Salt to taste

Directions

  1. To make red bean lobio, you first need to prepare the ingredients. Pre-soak beans in water for 7-12 hours, then boil for 1 hour.
  2. Cut onions into medium cubes.
  3. Peel the tomato.
  4. Cut the tomato into large cubes. Grate 1 clove of garlic on a fine grater.
  5. Finely chop the slightly dried walnuts with a knife.
  6. Coarsely chop the cilantro.
  7. Heat a frying pan over medium heat and add vegetable oil. Send the onions to the skillet and reduce heat to low.
  8. Fry the onion in vegetable oil until golden brown. Then drain off the remaining oil.
  9. Rinse the boiled beans and add to the onion.
  10. Add the tomato along with the garlic and nuts. Salt, season with Georgian spice hops-suneli.
  11. Add water (70 g) left over from boiling the beans. Boil for another 3 minutes.
  12. Remove from heat and lightly beat with a sauce pan.
  13. Finally add fresh cilantro and stir.
  14. The red bean lobio is done! Serve the dish using the culinary ring.
