Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 165 grams flour
  • 3 tablespoon cocoa powder, unsweetened
  • 1 ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • 60 g butter, room temperature
  • 200 g suar
  • 2 large egg (s)
  • 180 ml buttermilk
  • 2 teaspoons vinegar
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • 20 ml food coloring, red

For the frosting:

  • 180 g double cream cheese
  • 60 g butter, cold
  • 130 g powdered suar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 170 ° C. Line the muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. Sieve the flour, cocoa, baking powder and mix together in a large bowl.
  3. In a second bowl, stir the butter and sugar together until frothy. Add eggs.
  4. Then add the buttermilk, vinegar, vanilla sugar and red food coloring and mix well again.
  5. Now pour the contents of both bowls together and stir everything into a smooth dough.
  6. Use two spoons to pour the batter into the prepared muffin paper bowls, about 3/4 full.
  7. The baking time is approx. 20-25 minutes. Check the dough with a toothpick towards the end of the baking time. He should come out again without a crumb.
  8. Let the cupcakes cool completely before applying the frosting.
  9. Mix all ingredients for the frosting together and beat until creamy. Then put it in the fridge for 20 minutes and then brush the cupcakes with it. Decorate with further decoration if you like.
  10. For this version I had the chef`s logo printed on edible icing paper. You can of course do that with any other motif. The cupcake is given an even more personal touch and is guaranteed to be an eye-catcher! Not to forget just super delicious!
