Ingredients

  • 1 roast chicken, halved
  • 1 kohlrabi
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 4 tablespoon rapeseed oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika powder, hot pink
  • 1 teaspoon paprika powder, noble sweet
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • salt and pepper
  • Chilli flakes
  • garlic

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a pan, stir in 2 tablespoons of oil, both paprika powder and the curry powder, season with salt and pepper, remove from heat.
  2. Wash the roast chicken, pat dry, season the inside with salt and pepper, brush the outside with two thirds of the prepared paprika butter, place in a large baking dish and pour 300 ml of water. Put the baking dish in the oven and cook the roast chicken at 150 ° C for about 30 minutes.
  3. Peel the kohlrabi and cut into chips-like sticks. Mix 2 tablespoons of oil with salt, pepper, garlic and chili powder and toss the kohlrabi sticks with the oil mixture in a large bowl.
  4. After the chicken has cooked for 20 minutes, add the kohlrabi fries to the oven. Turn the oven up to 170 ° C.
  5. After another 10 minutes, brush the chicken again with the paprika butter and fry for another 30 minutes. Then prick the meat with a wooden stick between the breast and the leg. If the meat juice runs out, the roast chicken is done.
  6. Serve with the kohlrabi.
