Ingredients

  • 2 large eggplant (s)
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 150 g cheese (Emmentaler), rated
  • 1 point ham (Black Forest)
  • some oil

Instructions

  1. Cut the aubergines into slices (max. 3 mm) and fry them brown on both sides in a little oil. Then place on a napkin (kitchen roll) so that the fat drips off a little (isn`t much anyway). Don`t salt, the ham is salty enough.
  2. Slightly cooled, place a slice of smoked ham on each slice of eggplant and roll up. So that they don`t open, just stick a toothpick in it, it looks nice too.
  3. Put some oil in a small baking pan (not a lot, just make sure the pan is not dry anywhere). Peel the garlic cloves, cut in half and lay out evenly in the form. Put the rolls in and sprinkle the cheese over them.
  4. Cover with aluminum foil and bake at 180 ° C for about 20 minutes. Then remove the aluminum foil and bake the cheese for another 5-10 minutes until golden yellow.
  5. A delicious ciabatta or normal baguettes and a glass of red wine (Cavi, Sicilian) taste best with it.
