Sausage Yeast Pie

This wonderful yeast cake looks like a flower and is convenient because it doesn’t need to be cut. This is a tear-off cake made from yeast dough, it consists of small buns with pieces of sausages inside. Separately, I would like to note the dough – it is perfect, smooth, tasty, and it can be successfully used for making other baked goods, for example, pizza. Cook uniquely – I highly recommend this sausage pie recipe!

Cook: 2 hours

Ingredients

  • Sausages – 300 g (8 pcs.)
  • Water – 125 ml
  • Milk – 125 ml
  • Sunflower oil – 30 ml
  • Butter – 50 g
  • Dry yeast – 8 g
  • Sugar – 1 tbsp
  • Flour – 450 g
  • Salt – 1 teaspoon (no slide)
  • Yolk – 1 pc. (to grease the cake)
  • Sesame seeds – 0.5 tbsp

Directions

  1. Prepare the dough first. Combine milk with boiled water and heat to 38-39 degrees. Transfer the liquid to a bowl.
  2. Pour in sugar and dry yeast. Stir and let sit for 10 minutes.
  3. Then add melted butter and sunflower oil. Stir again.
  4. Add salt and sift all the flour at once.
  5. Knead the yeast dough. You should knead the dough with your hands for 8-10 minutes, with the help of a kitchen machine and a hook attachment – 3 minutes.
  6. Gather the finished dough into a ball.
  7. Cover the bowl with a towel and proof the yeast dough in a warm place for 40 minutes. After this time, the dough will double in volume, become smooth, very pleasant to the touch.
  8. Knead the dough without extra flour and divide into 16 pieces. Roll the dough into balls.
  9. Peel the sausages, cut into pieces.
  10. Form each ball of dough into a tortilla and place the sausage inside. Pinch the edges of the dough so that the sausage is inside.
  11. It turns out such “dumplings”.
  12. Place the sausages in the dough, seam side down, in a round baking dish (my mold is 24 cm in diameter), simulating a flower.
  13. Brush the yeast cake with egg yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  14. Bake the tear-off sausage pie in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
  15. Remove the finished tart from the yeast dough from the mold and let it cool completely.
  16. Delicious and beautiful yeast dough pie with sausages is ready to serve! This pie can be served with first courses and with milk. For a snack on a walk or on the road, it is also perfect.
