Sausages in Pancake Dough (in the Oven)

Sausages baked in egg, milk, and flour-based dough are an amazing breakfast that belongs to English cuisine. After baking, the dough turns out fluffy and airy, like a pudding, it gently envelops the ruddy sausages and altogether forms a very harmonious taste!

Servings: 2

Ingredients

  • Sausages – 250 g
  • Milk – 130 ml
  • Flour – 120 g
  • Eggs – 2 pcs.
  • Salt to taste
  • Vegetable oil – 1/2 tbsp

Directions

  1. Free sausages from the shell.
  2. Transfer the sausages to a baking dish and brush with a little vegetable oil. Put the sausages in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for 7-8 minutes.
  3. While the sausages are baking, prepare the dough. To do this, break the eggs into a bowl and add salt.
  4. Use a whisk or fork to loosen the eggs.
  5. Pour in milk.
  6. Add flour.
  7. Whisk the dough until smooth (no lumps). Inconsistency, such a pancake dough will turn out like thick sour cream.
  8. Transfer the browned sausages from the mold to a plate, and grease the mold itself, the bottom, and sides with vegetable oil (my mold size is 18×15 cm).
  9. Pour the dough into a mold.
  10. Place the sausages on top of the dough.
  11. Put the form with sausages in the dough in the oven and bake the dish at the same temperature of 200 degrees for about 15-20 minutes.
