  • 1 large onion (s)
  • 350 g mushrooms, fresh
  • 40 g butter
  • 1 cup crème fraîche
  • 1 cup cream
  • 4 turkey schnitzel
  • salt and pepper
  • 150 g Gouda cheese, rated
  • Paprika powder

Instructions

  1. Peel and finely chop the onions. Clean, wash and thinly slice the mushrooms.
  2. Steam the onions in half of the butter until soft. Add the mushrooms and fry. Then add the crème fraîche and cream, simmer briefly and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Season the turkey schnitzel with pepper, salt and paprika and fry in the remaining butter for 2 minutes on each side. Then place the schnitzel side by side in a buttered baking dish.
  4. Put the mushroom mixture on the schnitzel. Scatter Gouda cheese on top. Bake in the oven at 180 degrees for about 15 minutes until the cheese has melted.
  5. The Utrecht schnitzel is best served with ribbon noodles.
