Shrimps Baked with Cheese Crust

Fresh shrimps are baked in a spicy tomato sauce with a cheese crust.

Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • Large fresh shrimps (peeled) – 500 g
  • Canned tomatoes without skin (chopped) – 800 g
  • Parmesan cheese (shredded on a grater) – 120 g
  • Olive oil – 30-45 g
  • Onions (cut into strips) – 1 pc.
  • Bulgarian green pepper (finely chopped) – 1 pc.
  • Garlic (finely chopped) – 2-3 cloves
  • Coriander, seeds – 2-3 teaspoon.
  • Fresh chili pepper (finely chopped) – 1 pc.
  • Sugar – 1-2 teaspoon
  • White wine vinegar – 1 teaspoon.
  • Fresh parsley (chopped) – 1 bunch
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste

Directions

  1. Heat olive oil in a cast-iron saucepan (cauldron), add onion, bell pepper, garlic, coriander, and chili, cook, stirring occasionally, for 3-5 minutes, until the onion is golden brown.
  2. Add sugar, vinegar, tomatoes and parsley to a saucepan and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 25 minutes, until the sauce thickens.
  3. Turn on the oven to preheat to 200 degrees. Season the prepared sauce with salt and pepper, put the shrimps in it, mix with the sauce.
  4. Place the shrimp and sauce in heat-resistant portion pots, sprinkle with cheese on top and place in a preheated oven for 25 minutes.

Serve the shrimp immediately.
