Spanish Sweet Toast

Servings: 3-4

Ingredients

  • White Bread – 5 Slices
  • Eggs – 2 Pieces
  • Milk – 250 Milliliters (+ 2 Tbsp.)
  • Chocolate – 100 Grams
  • Cinnamon – 1/3 Teaspoon
  • Butter – 2 Teaspoons
  • Lemon zest – 1/2 Piece
  • Powdered sugar – 2 Teaspoons
  • Coconut Flakes – 3 Teaspoons

Directions

  1. First of all, heat the milk and add the zest of half a lemon.
  2. Then add cinnamon and boil over low heat for 5 minutes. Don’t let the milk boil.
  3. Beat eggs lightly in a separate bowl.
  4. Dip the halved slices of toast bread first in the milk mixture and then in the egg. (you can mix egg with milk together)
  5. Heat a frying pan with 1 teaspoon of butter and fry the toast.
  6. Put the finished toasts on a napkin and let them cool down a little.
  7. While the toast is cooling, melt the chocolate with 2 tablespoons of milk and 1 teaspoon of butter.
  8. Place the toast on the parchment and brush half of each with chocolate. Sprinkle the coconut on top of the chocolate and powdered sugar on the half of the non-chocolate toast.
