Ingredients

  • 4 spare ribs
  • 2 onions)
  • 2 tablespoon sugar, brown
  • 200 ml tomato ketchup
  • 2 tablespoon herb vinegar or brandy vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 tablespoon honey
  • salt
  • pepper
  • Chilli flakes
  • Vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Chop the onion and put it in a saucepan with vegetable oil to translate. Add the brown sugar and caramelize everything. Add tomato ketchup, vinegar, Worcester sauce and honey and bring to the boil. Season to taste with salt, pepper and chilli flakes.
  2. Put the spare ribs in a baking dish and pour 3/4 of the sauce over them. Place in the oven at 200 ° C for approx. 60 minutes, turning the spare ribs once in between.
  3. Serve the spare ribs with the remaining sauce.
  4. If you want, you can soak the spare ribs in the sauce for a few hours and cook them on the grill.
